Learn All About Green Haze
With such beautiful spring weather, the fields are already looking lush and full of activity. Bird song fills the early morning sky and by evening a gentle hum can already be heard amongst the long grasses that house our favourite bugs and beasties.
At this time of year, our farm managers are already busy in the fields and will this month be sowing our specially selected wildflower mix which will create a riot of colour along the blackcurrant rows as we head towards harvest in the summer months. Our wildflower mix will naturally sustain our bee population who we could not do without as they are great pollinators and help us grow the biggest and tastiest berries each year.

Our growers refer to this month as the green haze. We see the woody winter branches disappear and there is an abundance of fuzzy green shoots transforming the field into a lush green carpet of foliage. Already the sweet blackcurrant perfume wafts gently on the wind and we know it won’t be long until our delicious blackcurrants return.
